Berlin Klänge was conceived by David Stanley Aponte while living in Berlin. "Schneefall in Friedrichshain" was recorded in February of 2013 while Aponte was hospitalized with a broken hip and foot. Prior to that, "Neues Jahr" was captured New Year’s Day 2013 while walking from Mitte to Neukölln through Kreuzberg.

Aponte met with End Result Productions three years later in December of 2015, finding they shared a mutual respect for each other’s work.

The belated cassette issue of "Berlin Klänge" arrives in light of this meeting, released in a special edition for the Dark Matter II event presented by End Result Productions and Aponte’s own imprint Subrealization on 28 May 2016.
